The PERFECT man does not exist. The RIGHT man DOES.
The Right Man is the man who is in between the guy you ‘settle’ for with low standards, and the ‘perfect’ guy who doesn’t exist because of ‘impossible’ standards. Moderating the two is what works. To find a satisfying relationship we have to stop setting ourselves up to expect perfection and paradoxes. The man who is strong and stable and doesn’t let your emotional states phase him, but who is so sensitive and empathic he can feel with you and even know how you feel a step ahead of you. A guy who is spontaneous and fun-loving, but settled down and stable.
You CAN have a guy who is BOTH.. but he will not be SIMULTANEOUSLY both — and not at the EXTREMES.
It’s a spectrum. Sometimes he will be fun-loving, other times he may want to balance out by being responsible instead of whimsical. But you cannot have a guy who *simultaneously* is swimming with the sharks for a thrill but also very risk averse and planning his pennies (literally) to gain 0.01% more return on your retirement account.
The same guy could do both of those in different phases of his life, but likely not on the same day.
If you want an extreme, then expect to get what you asked for. However, if you want balance… well, look for a guy who likes to balance out his life.
Settling for a guy who is at the opposite end of the spectrum from what you want (super conservative instead of super risque, for example), or has NEITHER quality is not going to make you happy. Happiness IS a choice… and the choice is that you will allow your partner to be as imperfectly human as you are so long as he has the elements you want in some sort of balance, enough of the time… which means YOU have to start by offering those qualities too.
Before anyone complains there is no right man who is artistic yet rich, masculine yet has a feminine understanding, and so on… you yourself have to show up offering the SAME fully developed balance. Want men of more quality? Become a woman of higher quality by assuming responsibility for your own happiness.
